Women’s Day brings Chinese-Malawian communities for mutual growth

Chinese community and investors on Friday joined hands with Malawians to commemorate International Women’s Day in a celebration that emphasized both cultural exchange and economic cooperation.

The event, held to foster deeper ties between the two nations, highlighted the importance of collaboration in driving investment and project initiatives forward.

Speaking during the event, executive chairperson for the Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Blantyre Li Ying, expressed optimism for the event and its potential impact on bilateral relations.

“This interaction not only promotes investments and projects but also enriches cultural experiences and relationships between China and Malawi.

“We hope to host similar events in the future to promote not only investments and projects but also culture to enhance the cooperation between China and Malawi,” she said.

On her part, advisor to the Malawi-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Mercy Kachale said the celebration served as a platform for both Chinese and Malawian communities to come together, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

She said: “Through various activities and discussions, participants engaged in dialogue aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and fostering a spirit of partnership.
